This was made for a 40th wedding anniversary. They were having an afternoon tea party at the gorgeous Auckland botanical gardens. So I thought it would be nice to have a garden cupcake tower with gorgeous blooms and butterflies!

Today I learnt to create carnation flowers! Very very happy that I can kinda do it :D

They asked for yellow cake, chocolate icing, the color lavender, daisies and bowling. Sooo this is what they got. I felt like I was on a Food Network Challenge. I have been wanting to do cupcakes like RATUkek for some time now but I wish I could have put more of myself into my first attempt at that style. of. I love her tiered cupcakes!!!

Half are pink stamped valentines/love themed and half handpainted blue delft/dutch themed to recognise this. The colour scheme of gold, blue and pink were chosen by the family.

Devils food cake with a 1/3 of a cup of mayonaisse for extra moistness. Reese's chips are baked in and topped with chocolate icing and Reese's peanut butter cup chunks.

This venue was gorgeous - the marquee @ Caversham House in the gorgeous Swan Valley

The design was so simple but just worked so well. I think the venue may have helped.

This cupcake tower was designed to match the birthday girl's party dress. She also wanted it to look like a present so I added bows and a gift tag. There were 4 dozen mini cupcakes, all were not pictured.

The couple gave me the gorgeous paper which they used for their invite. I was inlove with the colours and design. This is my interpretation of the design.

Simple and dramatic

I'm just thinking if this cupcake is too busy??? The couples invite had lots of blossoms and colours were brown and green. I introduce the pink to give it more colour... I like it by itself but think it may be to much in a cupcake tower? What are your thoughts?

Wedding samples which again took inspiration from the couples invite. Butterflies and dots were a must. The little blue butterfly actually has a dot border and I will be doing a dot border around the heart.
